Every year, 1 in 12 patients have come to Mayo Clinic to receive care for cancer. Through philanthropy, Mayo Clinic will diagnose disease earlier, personalize treatments and provide unparalleled care through innovative models.
Leading experts at Mayo Clinic conduct thousands of clinical trials every year so patients from around the world have access to innovative treatments designed to investigate — and ultimately cure — their serious, complex and rare conditions.
Mayo Clinic has more than 2,800 clinical trials underway to solve these problems, but to maintain the highest scientific standards, we must be inclusive of all communities. Direct-to-patient trials are currently in the pilot stage at our Mayo Clinic campus in Jacksonville, Florida, bringing clinical trials directly to participants' homes without a need to travel to Mayo Clinic for enrollment or ongoing visits. The goal is to make participating in research more convenient and to provide access to clinical trials to participants anywhere.
