Research

Using the counterintuitive approach of encouraging mutation in tumors, researchers discovered that although mutation can induce chemotherapy resistance, it can also make tumors sensitive to immunotherapy.

The mechanisms by which glioblastoma-derived extracellular vesicles promote tumor growth may be more complicated than previously thought. Mayo Clinic is exploiting characteristics of extracellular vesicles to better diagnose and treat glioblastoma.

Data suggest that all women under 66 diagnosed with breast cancer should be offered germline genetic testing for mutations known to increase cancer risk in patients and their families.
