AI helps specialists detect pancreatic cancer up to three years earlier

A Mayo Clinic-developed AI model can identify early signs of pancreatic cancer on routine CT scans up to three years before clinical diagnosis by detecting subtle tissue changes not visible to clinicians. In a large validation study, the model identified 73% of prediagnostic cases, significantly improving early detection compared to standard review. Read more...

APRIL EVENT RECAP:
Mayo Clinic portfolio company Nucleus RadioPharma celebrated the grand opening of its new radiopharmaceutical manufacturing facility in Rochester, Minnesota, housed within Destination Medical Center (DMC)'s Discovery Square building.

Backed by a recent $50M financing round led by OrbiMed to support expanded manufacturing capacity across its Rochester operations and planned Philadelphia facility, the company continues to scale its capabilities.

Mayo Clinic Business Development staffers Janani Reisenauer, MD, and Bharath Wootla joined Mayo Clinic nuclear medicine specialist Geoff Johnson, MD, PhD, alongside Minnesota Governor Tim Walz and Rochester Mayor Kim Norton ahead of the grand opening.

Geof Hannigan, PhD, has recently joined Mayo Clinic to lead business development for BioLabs Rochester, MN.
