Vacuum Sponge

To improve the efficacy and time required to treat anastomotic leaks, Mayo Clinic innovators have developed a novel drainage catheter designed to sterilize and accelerate the healing process.
KATP Channel Profiling

Research at Mayo Clinic has uncovered the role genetic variance plays in the heart's ability to tolerate stress which can be analyzed through a polymorphism in ATP-sensitive potassium (KATP). KATP channel profiling has the potential to improve risk stratification and accurately predict susceptibility to heart failure development.
Pulsed Electrical Field for Ventricular Fibrillation

Mayo Clinic innovators have developed a targeted pulsed electrical field system with a minimal thermal footprint. The system targets Purkinje fibers with the goal of interrupting ventricular fibrillation and re-establishing a heart’s normal rhythm.
