Abbott bolsters diagnostics portfolio with buyout of Exact Sciences

Abbott announced in November it will acquire Madison-based Exact Sciences, the maker of Cologuard and other cancer-diagnostic tests, in a deal valued at more than $21 billion. The move gives Abbott a major foothold in cancer screening and precision oncology, while Exact Sciences will continue operating from Madison as a subsidiary once the deal closes. Read more...

Dr. Noseworthy is a consultant in the Division of Heart Rhythm services, and his research focuses on identifying genetic contributors to risk of sudden cardiac death, QT prolongation and drug-induced arrhythmias. He also serves as the medical director for Mayo Clinic Business Development, where
he oversees proactive business partnerships and strategic collaborations, mergers and acquisitions, equity investing and the commercialization of Mayo Clinic technologies for the benefit of patients worldwide while generating revenue to support clinical practice, research and education at Mayo Clinic.
